Country Drive....

Within 4 miles of our house is a nice little road called Waterfall Road....or State Road 601. This little road starts off rather nice and quiet.....and then gets smaller and smaller and a bit more windy. Let's just say it's a fun road. After about 8 miles you end up in a place called Plains. A little town with a few shops and from what we hear, a few great places to eat.

After picking Megan up from a school orientation we took her out to get her bike which was stored at a friend house. Drew bought the bike back in May when Drew and Cheri were out exploring the area. We took Waterfall Road and Megan took the camera and braced it on top on the car through the sun roof. We then increased the speed by 2.5x and this is the little result.

Leaving Utah....

August 23rd started with Cheri and I waking in a hotel. Sort of strange to be sleeping in something other then your own home when you are in the same general area as one of your house.

First thing for the day was to go and wash the van. I pulled into a the local Lehi car wash and thought there was just a bunch of dirt. It turned out to be hair....lots of hair.

Tons of bigfoot hair at the carwash

See what I mean....? HAIR!

Dog Hair? Yeti Hair? Bigfoot?

How did this get here? Well here is my opinion. Late in the night, bigfoot sneaks down to the valley, uses the carwash as a shower and this is the aftermath.

Next we ran over to the pet store for some last minute supplies for the dogs. When we came out we noticed a unique parking job on the edge of the Walmart parking lot.

Strange parking at the AF Walmart?

Within a few minutes a young woman ran out of the pet store and was somewhat shocked to see her car parked here. It apparently slipped out of gear and the parking brake doesn't work.

PUSH

Yet a few guys (me and someone else) helped get her out of the predicament and on her way.

Eventually we ended up at the airport....we tried very hard to wear the dogs out and get them ready for the flight Yet for whatever reason Prudence thought the whole airport was a traumatic experience and starting yipping right away.

Her yipping is more like some kid scuffing their heals along a well waxed floor and making that little squeaking noise. In fast, that is what most of the airport thought was making the sound.

Family at the Airport

Now, once we got on the plane Pru almost got us kicked off the plane. She started yipping so quickly that most people thought something was wrong. We should have video taped this experience...but we didn't. We were way to worried about being asked to leave or spending four hours with an entire plane ready to toss us and the dogs off. To give you a bit of an idea....it sounded something like this...

After some magic from Megan and at least 5 individual prayers from each one of us, Pru settled down for long enough for them to shut the cabin door and take off.

We arrived late in Virginia and our good friend Mike picked us up and took us to our hotel. He was kind enough to also drop our car off at the hotel so we had it in the morning.

Tuesday, the movers were a bit late but started unloading the house and were finished by 5:00 pm. This started a long week of getting girls registered in school, unpacking, unboxing and cleaning.
